With bags packed and the vehicle loaded, The Wrenn's set out on our trip at exactly 4:41 PM (a little later than we had planned). Before we left the house, Daniel called a little family meeting at the kitchen table where we discussed how we were a family who loved each other and would be spending a LOT of time together over the next two weeks. He told them that we all had to work hard at being kind to one another in order to have a good time on our trip. Then he led us in a prayer for our safety and we loaded up. I had intended to take a picture of how crammed tight we had to pack everything in our rented Expedition, but I didn't manage to do so. I did take a few of the kids once we got in.The kids immediately got busy using their tech devices.
A few notes of interest so far:
*Amelia fell asleep before we got off Grant mountain.
*As we traveled west on Hwy 72, we witnessed some of the April 27th Tornado damage near Hillsboro.*We crossed into Mississippi at 7pm. I told the kids that I wanted them to take note as we crossed over into a new state so that they could see if anything was different. Andrew assessed that the roads were "bumpier". Alex asked what language they spoke. Annessa slept through it until she woke up in the drive thru line at Wendy's.
*We crossed over the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway (Gonna make Annessa tell me what was important about that later).
*In Burnsville, MS, gas was $3.39/gal.
*We passed through Glen, MS where Kingsford Charcoal is manufactured.
*Got gas in Corinth for $3.31/gal.
*Crossed into Tennessee at 9pm.*Got onto 40W in Memphis at 9:30pm.
*Entered Arkansas at 9:32pm, where we crossed over the Mississippi River and even though it was dark, we saw a little bit of the flooding. That's all for now! I'll update more in the morning!
Don't forget to leave us some comments! We'd love to hear from y'all back home and if you don't already have a google account, it's easy to sign up so you can comment.
