We woke up this morning and ate breakfast at the hotel then headed to the San Diego Zoo! It was a nice 60 degrees or so. Great weather! Now there were so many animals and so many photos (I took over 200, plus Annessa and Andrew both had their cameras taking pictures too) that I tried to narrow it down to some of the best. (You can click on the photos to enlarge to see better.)
My favorite animal to see were the Koala bears. They were just so cute!

The Rhino was just waking up for the day. Here he's stretching.
Ok. These peacocks were just walking around out in the open. This one began to spread its feathers for us. I thought, "Oh look...he's going to give us a show...."
But can you tell in this picture who he's looking? Yep...straight at Amelia. I guess she looked threatening to him because he took off straight for her. Scared her and me both!
I got tickled when we were looking at this Albino Python exhibit. Everyone that came around, Amelia would tell them to look over at it. And then tell them "It's a snake." Maybe she's going to be a Zoo Keeper or Guide when she grows up.
Some of the animals were pretty active. But a lot of them, including the Gorillas were just lazily laying around. I guess if I had someone to feed me and take care of me all the time, that's all I'd do too.
Here is Amelia's way of telling us that she was "through with the zoo". She covered herself up with her jacket and wouldn't look at anymore of the animals.
So that was our cue to leave. Afterall, we had been there for a little more than 5 hours. We stopped and let the kids get their souvenirs and then headed back to the hotel. We took some time to rest and then the kids played in the pool here for a little while.
We are still trying to decide what our plan for tomorrow will be. I guess you will just have to wait until the update and be surprised! ;)
Love SD Zoo!! Looks like you guys had fun!!
