Day Six: Glacier-Going To The Sun Road

After a good night of sleep, we headed out for our second day in Glacier.  This tone we entered at West Glacier. We tried to leave early enough to beat some of the traffic. We did manage to get into the park pretty easily and began our trek up the mountain to Logan’s Pass (this is where we wanted to park and do a hike before coming back down). Oh my, the ride up provided us with such incredible views!  They were amazing!  The drive up was a little scary, at least for me.  Apparently, I have developed some anxiety when driving to new heights and being right on the edge.  It was crazy!

Unfortunately, when we got to Logan’s Pass, the parking lot was already full and had many others driving around and around trying to get a spot as it opened up. We continued on a little ways to the Jackson Glacier overlook.  Here we did find parking and decided to take a hike as well.  We aren’t completely sure which trail we were taking but we came out to a beautiful waterfall where we rested, explored, and attempted to stand in the cold, cold water.  It was very refreshing after the long hike down to it.  Coming back up proved to be a little harder.  But thankfully for all those lunges and front squats we have been doing, we managed the hike back up.

We drove back down and stopped at the Lake McDonald Lodge area where we got souvenirs at the store there and had another delicious PBJ lunch. 😂 We even had a visitor while we ate. A deer came so close by is, not afraid at all.

We continued on until we arrived back to West Glacier where we all got ice cream.  I had been wanting to try the Huckleberry ice cream. It was so good!  I definitely need some more huckleberry before we leave this area!

Because we have been nonstop for the last several days, we all decided to go back to our place and rest.  I think we all took a nap. We had pizza for dinner and watched a movie.  Tomorrow we plan to pack up and head south from here.  Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventures and please pray we have safe travels.  We have to drive 7.5 hours.
